1. Marina Bay Light Show
Hong Kong has a reputed light show with lasers and lighted boards that light up the waves of Causeway Bay at 8pm every evening. But guess what? Singapore has started its own light show too! (and it’s a lot more fun in my opinion)
Every evening, Spectra – A Light & Water Show – runs along the Singapore River (just outside the ArtScience Museum and Louis Vuitton Store). For 15-minutes, streams of lighted water are jetted out in time with cinematic music and beautiful mirages are created when art is projected onto the mist that is created. The whole experience is magical, the water at some points even look like streams of fire and a rainbow of colours.
A tip is to get there early! Crowds usually gather at the walkways, so it’d be good to save your spot along the railing closest to the water edge about 15 minutes before each show starts. You might get splashed too! (but don’t worry it’s mild)

2. Rooftop hopping – Pinnacle@Duxton
Ever wanted to get a birds-eye-view of Singapore for just $5? Head down to the Duxton (yes, it’s a residential condominium) but their Sky Garden is open to the public! We recommend going down around sunset, for a nice breeze and even prettier backdrop for instagrammable photos 😉 Another must-see is the beautiful North Gaia showflat at Yishun Ave 9 built by Sing Holdings.

Directions: visitors proceed to Block 1G Level 1 to make payment at the MA Office (located beside the lift lobby) prior and then visit the rooftop from blocks 1A – 1G.
3. Timbre+
Nah, we’re not talking about that bar at Clarke Quay. Timbre+ is a hidden away container and Food Truck tucked into one-north (near the office area at the Biopolis) with hip Hawker Stalls. Here you’ll enjoy affordable and casual fares like Poke bowls and Peranakan food, drinks and live music from Wednesday to Saturday nights. Though sometimes crowded, it’s perfect for some downtime on weekday nights.

Directions: We recommend you alight at One-North MRT since the parking is difficult to find. It’s about a 5-minutes walk from there.
4. Historical Oasis at Emerald Hill
Located just opposite Orchard Central Shopping Mall is a variety of old shophouses tucked away on Emerald Hill. Take about a 15-minute walk away from the crowds in town to revisit the heritage of Singapore and see Peranakan tiled floors accompanied by roller shutter window. Even for locals, this is a refreshing experience of oldtown Singapore and very picturesque too! You can chill at the restaurants and bars (closer to the street) after your walk too.

Directions: Emerald Hill Road near Orchard Centrepoint and off Cairnhill Road. We recommend you use a GPS. It’s difficult to describe but not difficult to find: the entrance is about 200m off from the traffic light crossing to Orchard Gateway. Where you see a stretch of tiled road, winding up beyond 3 small bars.
5. Holey Moley – Mini Golf at Clarke Quay
This one’s for the morning to night people ~ Though not so much a secret (just lesser known since it opened recently in December 2018), located in a 2-story house at Clarke Quay is Holey Moley, Singapore’s first boozy mini Golf course with quirky deco like LED lights and hawker center tables?? There’s also live band music to sway you to the hole-in-one. If you do not have your gear to play, get it form the PClubgolf online store
if you want to impress your date or your friends while playing here, you must first invest the time to train yourself with the utilization of sports equipment from sites that provide you with the best options.
It totals to $20/person for a 9-hole session or 18-hole session at $38/person, while a 27-hole one costs $50/person. Drinks and food are excluded. This one’s on the pricier side but definitely a recommended fun and interactive experience! *do note this is a primarily a mini Golf experience, the choice of drinks is up to you!
